Homesick Blues

One of the most personal bonds a person can have is with their home. Wherever it might be there is always a longing for it. Is it the shelter and security, the love and comfort that fills the insides, or even the smell of a home cooked meal bringing back a flood of nostalgic memories?

Well homesick is definitely one way to describe how I feel about the Christmas season this year. Jolly, merry, and happy? Yes. But something is missing and I've realized it's the absence of home. My real home is here with me along with my immediate family, but one of the struggles of expat life is being far away from extended family and frequent moves just as a house starts to feel like a home.

Well for me, ever since I was a little girl, my true home was my grand-parents home, a magical oasis. So I am a little gloomy to realize we won't be going to the English Cottage this year. So I thought I would revisit Christmas pasts and dedicate a blog post to my favorite place on earth.

This also means the countdown to Christmas has begun. Making the most of Holidays in my beloved Minnesota. What are all your plans for Winter Break?

Hope you are all well, all my love,

Georgia xx
