New Year

New Years Eve morning is a great time to sit back with a cup of tea and reflect on the year, and say good bye to the good times and the bad. The new year all started on my grandparents doorstep in Cheshire, England (Literally a doorstep since I was the 'Bringer of the New Year' an English tradition that makes a member of the household stand outside at 11:59 and at midnight let into the house carrying coins and bread bringing the new year along with you). As the legend goes that welcoming of the new year brings luck and prosperity and I certainly saw that myth hold true. But while you enjoy the pasts memory, it's important to focus on now and make new realistic goals for the future...so here are my ever so exciting new years resolutions.

1. Continue blogging and continue motivation through inspiration, nothing else. This blog is such an exciting outlet and the progress and moments I could have recorded by this time next year could really be something.

2. Travel more. This year has definitely reached beyond my hope with England, Seattle, Chicago, and Miami. A new year is a whole new chance for discovery and I'd like to continue searching new places even within my own city.

3. Stay creative. My photography is something that always gets buried behind school and other obligations, this year I'd like to make it a priority. In general I need to make my creativity a priority over routine and generalization.

4. Openness. Being flexible, open and fearless is definitely something I would like to base this new year on, because exciting and new things happen to people who let it into their lives, so I will not hold myself back based off of fear of rejection, humility, or anything else. So with obedience to this I believe I will be lead to the meeting new people, an abundance of opportunity, and growth as a person.

5. Keep doing what I'm doing. I suppose most of my resolutions revolve around me just being a stronger version of myself. There is no need to change who you are when the clock strikes 12, no need to make drastic promises that you might not keep.
